i miss my yang qin
this is a picture of it:

basically it contains many many strings and most pple once they see it they give up learning cause it looks hard.
and you have to play with two sticks so its harder to aim exactly on the spot to get the right note. it requires lots of trainings to get it right. i played that since primary two all the way to sec four.. and still, i call myself a noob at it because its something that really require full dedication and lots of time to master.
and to play it, you dont really just 'play' it. we call the playing method "whipping". so everytime you have to whip the strings real hard to get the desired sound. and the strings are somewhat close together so you have to have very good aim and feel of it. plus, you have to be quick and go down fast and come up fast. the best optimum result is when the yang qin stick hits your forehead when its lifted after every note. and imagine how many notes there are and thus that explains the speed you have to go at. there are many other rules to this instrument that makes it all so much harder thus it makes me feel extraodinarily satisfied everytime i finally get a verse right
(:
but still, i love it. i wont ever give it up for something else for example liu qin or base or cello or er hu. its sth special to me and i think that the instrument suits my character alot.
i miss playing it alr! and its sad tt i dont have lessons e next week and next next week due to exams so i dun have an aveue to express my feelings anymore.
